Mayor Ferrell Delivers State of the City Address

Mayor Jim Ferrell’s State of the City Address was held at the Performing Arts and Event Center last Thursday. Federal Way stands at the threshold of growth, uniquely positioned to become a driving economic force in South King County in the years ahead.

With its dynamic energy and strong sense of community, it continues to be a place for opportunity and one people are proud to call home. The Mayor affirmed that our city is thriving.

The arrival of light rail helps downtown redevelopment gain momentum, and local businesses and residents continue to shape a vibrant community spirit. Federal Way is entering a bold new chapter of progress and possibility.

Thank you to all who attended and each of the non-profit organizations and city departments that shared information before and after the speech. Additionally, thank you to PAEC staff, the Federal Way AFJROTC, the Federal Way Chorale, the Jet City Chorus, and the Decatur High School jazz band for your contributions to the event.

It's a New Dawn, It's a New Day, and, Federal Way, we're feeling good!
