Thank You!

A big thank you is extended to all of the Franklin County Bar Association Members who have signed up for pro bono involvement!  48 private attorneys have already signed up for pro bono involvement in 2017.  If you would still like to sign up to be contacted by MidPenn Legal Services, Law Offices of WIN, and Franklin County Legal Services for your availability to handle civil cases on a pro bono basis, please contact Gloria Keener at gloria@fcls.net or 717-262-2326.  Your support is deeply appreciated and helps make equal access to justice possible in our community!

Mock Trial Volunteers Needed

It's that time of the year again - the Pennsylvania Bar Association Young Lawyers' Division Annual High School Mock Trial Competition kicks off this month.  We are currently seeking local attorneys to serve as scoring jurors for this year's District and Regional competition.  For those of you unfamiliar with this event,  the competition provides a great opportunity for local high school students to prepare and argue a case in front of a judge and jury, and generally become more familiar with the legal system.  Pennsylvania is lucky to have one of the largest high school mock trial competitions in the nation, and our local high school students always come out in force and put a lot of time and effort into the event.    The dates of the trials in Cumberland County and Franklin County are as follows:
February 1, 2017 (Franklin County)
February 7, 2017 (Franklin County)
February 8, 2017  (Cumberland County)

Jurors need to arrive at the courthouse no later than 5:15 p.m. and the trials normally last until 7:30 p.m.

If you are available to help out, please email  (mhipple@mcneeslaw.com) your availability.  You will be provided with more detailed instructions the day before the trial.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Sarah Hyser-Staub (sstaub@mcneeslaw.com) the Regional Coordinator for the competition in this area.

Thank you so much for your continued support of this wonderful program.
