Registration Is Now Open!

Registration is now open for our annual Section Conference in Spokane, Washington, May 1-3.


We have a great technical program - CEUs have been approved by Oregon and Washington. We have a water and wastewater track.


Don't miss out on the fantastic networking opportunities and all the latest equipment in our vendor trade show. Literally something for everyone in Spokane this year!


Early Bird Registration rates end March 31 - register early and save $150.

The Silent Auction is back for the 2024 annual conference, benefiting our Section's philanthropic efforts - Water For People, The Water Equation and the Education and Training Fund.


We are in need of donated items. Handmade arts and crafts are a real crowd pleaser as are food and beverage items. Click the link below to donate an item.

Wine for Water 2024

In the Willamette Valley

You are invited to Wine for Water 2024 on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at The Bindery in McMinnville, Oregon.

  

2024 is the 2nd year of the Wine for Water Roadshow and we are exploring beautiful Willamette Valley known for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Come taste award-winning wines while supporting the Section's philanthropies - Water For People, Education & Training Fund, and Water Equation. Tickets are $80 per person or $150 for two. Your ticket includes dinner, two drink tickets per person and networking with your industry peers.


BACK THIS YEAR - Kick off your weekend with group wine tasting and lunch on Saturday. Reserve your space and we will send details via email in the coming months.

Excellence in Engineering Awards

Enter by February 17

The Engineering Committee has opened the call for entries for the 2024 Excellence in Engineering Awards. These awards recognize excellence in engineering for water supply, treatment, and conveyance projects. Agencies, consultants, contractors, and water utilities who have recently or will be completing a water supply, treatment, or conveyance project for a water supply utility or agency in Idaho, Oregon or Washington may apply.


Categories. Projects may be submitted in the “Large Project” (>$5M construction), “Small Project” (<$5M construction) or “Planning” categories.


Streamlined Application Process. Electronic nominations will be limited to a 3-page project narrative providing a brief description of the project and why it demonstrates “Excellence in Engineering” with the opportunity to submit optional supporting material as applicants see fit.

To be considered for the 2024 Awards, the Committee will be looking for outstanding water-related engineering projects which have shown:


  • Innovative technologies or approaches
  • Difficult challenges that were overcome
  • Sustainability (resource sustainability or cost effectiveness)
  • System or project resiliency considerations (e.g. seismic, flood, system redundancy)


Please feel free to nominate one of your projects or someone else’s that you feel is deserving of an award. Additional information and the nomination form can be accessed using the link below. Deadline for submittals is February 17, 2024.

Pioneer Award Nominations Needed

Nominate an Outstanding Young Professional by March 1

The Pioneer Award is presented annually to the young professional exemplifying the most outstanding leadership, technical expertise, and dedication to community service. The award will be presented on Friday, May 3rd at the Annual Section Conference in Spokane. Nominations are accepted through March 1.

 

Young professionals are those with less than 10 years of experience in the water industry.
