Angels Calling Update
Thank you to everyone that contributed gifts at Christmas time for the Angels Calling program.

Your generosity provided gifts for forty children in Paterson through Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. We were also able to assist five area families by providing gifts and gift cards to help them purchase groceries and household items.

Your gifts helped these households have a less stressful holiday season. Thank you notes from the families included the following – “thank you for blessing our family”, “Your generosity always makes our holidays so much less stressful” and “thank you for making my children's Christmas so special”.
Results of the Annual Congregational Meeting
Sunday, January 13 was the Annual Congregational Meeting. In accordance with Article II of the By-Laws of The Packanack Community Church of Wayne.

The congregation passed the amendment to Article II, Section D of the By-Laws, which will reduce the quorum for all congregational meetings from fifty (50) to forty (40). Kathleen Schneider, Secretary.

Copies of the Annual Report are available in the narthex.

Successful Runaway Inequality Presentation
The Community Outreach Team hosted a presentation by author and activist, Les Leopold, on Wednesday, January 23. The topic of runaway economic inequality was discussed and explained to an interested audience of church members as well as members outside our community.

Mr. Leopold is the author of four books on the economy (his latest Runaway Inequality.) He explained the great economic disparity in our country between the average worker and the 1% of the ultra wealthy. He further explained how this disparity was created. He urged a call to action by the 11th for Change organization and other interested parties to push for change to end this disparity.

The audience was enthusiastic and enjoyed the evening. Many thanked the Community Outreach Team for their efforts.
