Rock Island Trail -
Missouri State Parks Foundation
The Missouri State Parks Foundation has started a campaign to accept a gift of land to be developed as the new Rock Island Trail State Park. Upon completion of the $9.8 million campaign, the 144-mile corridor of land will be gifted to the State to convert the former rail line into a public trail. Once completed, it will connect with the 47-mile Rock Island Spur from Pleasant Hill to Windsor, and the Katy Trail, creating over 440 miles of trails across Missouri. This is an extraordinary opportunity, but it cannot be accomplished without private support from generous individuals, businesses, and foundations. Please join us in making this happen!

Stop the sale of the Eleven Point State Park - Oppose HB 1046
A critical attack on our State Parks is moving in the Legislature. House Bill 1046 would force a sale of the sale of Eleven Point State Park. The bill has passed out of committee and is now on the House floor.
Please use the link below to visit our Legislative Action Center, which makes it super easy to send a quick note to your legislators, and offers plenty of background information if you want to learn more first.

From the Blog:
DIY Paddlefish Caviar
by Gilbert Randolph
The river was low, silty banks glistening in the sun and I’d spent a few hours already trying to catch a paddlefish. I was casting into a long flat, thinking about the yellow morels I’d stuffed into my backpack, and how it seemed I might not get a fish that year. In the middle of my backswing, mind drifting away from the moment, my motion was suddenly stopped. I had one...

Business Partner Spotlight:
Ozark Bait & Tackle
Ozark Bait & Tackle was founded by Tony Edgar in 2002 as Edgar's Outdoor Sports. Tony grew up with a love for the outdoors in Versailles just fifteen minutes from Lake of the Ozarks. He wanted to create a place where the avid hunter or fisher could find everything necessary to enjoy the outdoors. It started as a small store just outside of Versailles. In 2007 Tony moved just down the road to a new and larger building. With that move, the inventory grew and Edgar's Outdoor Sports began to offer a wider range of hunting and fishing accessories. The addition of Randy Washburn as a business partner in 2015 grew the company grew to two stores, adding the Laurie location, and changed the name to Ozark Bait & Tackle. Watch Tony on his weekly TV Series, Season to Season Outdoors on PBS Channel 6 on Saturday and Sunday evenings.

Ozark Outdoors
Purchase this book by Dr. Mark Morgan, and 50% of the proceeds will be donated to the Conservation Leadership Corps (CLC)!
Hunting and fishing are engrained in American culture. However, the true value of outdoor sports is far greater than retail sales, annual licenses and permits, or the number of participants. It's about the experience. Folklore is a powerful way to stabilize cultural practices and traditions. Conversations could begin at home, the workplace, or in the classroom, so start one today!
The book is available online in the CFM Store!
