The National Family Support Technical Assistance Center (NFSTAC) invites you to participate in a Meet and Greet to learn more about their team and to hear how they will serve families and the professionals and organizations that support them.
Participants will receive a follow up survey to gather input about how the NFSTAC can best support families who have children - of any age - who experience mental health and/or substance use challenges during their lifetime.

2021 National Drug and Alcohol Week
|
|
The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism have officially opened registration for National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week® (NDAFW) 2021. The observance will take place March 22‒28, 2021.
If you're looking for NDAFW activity ideas, consider using NIDA’s Kahoot! games on substance use and brain development. Also, NIDA’s Drugs & Health Blog and associated Teacher’s Guide provide great content ideas and potential activities and discussion questions that can be used for NDAFW events.
Last year, nearly 2,800 events were registered in all 50 states, two U.S. territories, Washington, D.C., and countries abroad including activities and events hosted by schools, community groups, afterschool clubs, and prevention organizations.

This one-hour virtual workshop from PACER’s Simon Technology Center will provide a quick introduction to a variety of tools that support time management, such as clocks, timers, and alarms. Apps and devices will be demonstrated that are appropriate for young children, teens, and adults.

Children’s Book Supports Young People Facing Abuser in Court
Written and illustrated by foster parents Jessica Miles and Gina Dee, Monty’s Day in Court is the first children’s book written from the perspective of a child who testifies in court against his abuser. Over 1300 copies have been purchased by more than 60 nonprofits and local agencies since July of 2020

Family Telehealth Readiness Quiz
As part of the CARES Act, Family Voices National was awarded a grant
to enhance the national network of family-led organizations that support families/caregivers of children and youth with special healthcare needs and disabilities to build their telehealth capacity to provide education, guidance, and support to Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) and their families. Please take a few minutes to complete their brief Family Telehealth Readiness Quiz in English or en Español to help them capture a national picture of family access to, confidence in and concerns about telehealth.
