Post-Roe, The Fight For Life Continues in the States

Welcome to the JLL Letter,
We are approaching the most solemn day on the Jewish calendar, Tisha B'Av, a day that is filled with tragedies for the Jewish people.
In my article, "What makes the ancient lessons of Tisha B'Av relevant today?" I describe with sadness how the Jewish people are not united today as they should be around the life issue. This is a contemporary tragedy that continues to cause strife and divide us:
"It saddens me that the secular and Reform Jewish movements have lurched so far to the left that they have embraced and act upon a sweeping immoral progressive agenda that is in direct opposition to traditional Judaism. One of the issues they support is unlimited abortion on demand. This is one reason the Jewish community is fragmented and cannot heal. Orthodox Jews do not abide by unrestricted abortion, and most Orthodox rabbis consider abortion akin to murder."
"Over the past 50 years, Reform Jews have relaxed their views and became extremists on this and many issues. We are distracted by disputes within the Jewish community. What will happen if there is ever a calamity from without?"
"Our political leaders have not grown wiser. They continue to allow unborn babies to be killed for convenience and the elderly and disabled are killed because they are not convenient. The least powerful among our society have no rights. They are destroyed. The least powerful in ancient Israel had no rights. They were destroyed. We still have much to learn from ancient history, and that is why those lessons from Tisha B’Av are relevant today."

Since Roe v. Wade was overturned, a number of pro-abortion Jewish leaders have continued their relentless tirade against the unborn. The killing of preborn children is a national and international tragedy.
Some rabbis are suing pro-life states that are passing laws to protect unborn children. "Rabbi" Barry Silver and his congregation are suing the state of Florida for their 15 week abortion ban, which has an exception for the mother's life. He admits he is receiving hate mail, mainly from Christians (whom he calls "Christian fundamentalists) and he attacks them in his lawsuit.
He also received pushback from some in the Jewish community, but not enough are speaking out. Here are excerpts from Silver's lawsuit:
"The Act reflects the views of Christian nationalists who seek to deny religious freedom to all others, under the arrogant, self-righteous notion that only they are capable of understanding God’s law and judgments and the religious views of all others are false, evil and not entitled to respect or constitutional protections."
The word "nationalist" is a code word for neo-Nazis. Barry Silver should be careful about the words he chooses to describe pro-life Christians.
Barry Silver is a RINO, a Rabbi In Name Only. His ideas are anti-Jewish, anti-Christian, anti-American and immoral. A minuscule percentage of abortions are to save the mother's life, which is the only exception authentic Judaism permits. Almost all abortions are elective.
Barry Silver's lawsuit will not unite Jews with the Christian community but will endanger the Jewish community by stoking anti-Semitism from Christians who are offended by his radical views.
As we contemplate and mourn the tragic events that took place in ancient times on Tisha B'Av, we must also mourn for the tragic consequences of legal abortion by uniting as many Jews as possible behind the right to life for all, from the littlest among us to the elderly and infirm. The Torah is clear: "Choose life, that you and your offspring shall live." (Deuteronomy 30:19).
There are Jews that do not support the radical baby killing agenda of fake extremist rabbis like Barry Silver. Outreach to the Jewish community is so important.

Rabbi Menken Speaks Out For Life!

Thank you Rabbi Menken!
Your voice and insights are so important because you speak the truth about the authentic Jewish pro-life position. Unlike "Rabbi" Barry Silver, who supports abortion on demand for any reason until birth.

Abortion Supporter Attacks Teenager Canvassing with SFLAction

SFLAction Volunteer Grace Harstock Students for Life of America

|
My heart goes out to this young pro-life volunteer, Grace Harstock, who was savagely assaulted by a violent pro-abortion supporter. She was canvassing for the Kansas referendum to get out the vote. A police complaint has been filed against the attacker.
I warned in my last issue of the JLL Letter that the violence would escalate and get personal, and this is what is happening. Pro-abortion violence must be stopped!

Steven Ertelt: Despite Kansas Vote, Americans are Still Pro-Life on Abortion
|
|
The referendum failed due to massive out-of-state pro-abortion funding from billionaires who support infanticide. The "Value Them Both" Amendment was written in confusing language with the intention of misleading voters.
This is not a victory for abortion "rights." It is a victory for pro-abortion propaganda, false advertising, fear mongering that women will die and the continued lies by the pro-abortion mainstream media.
The problem is the baby killers are successful with their lies and we have to combat that.
As long as outside influencers and PACS are allowed to pour money from out of state to defeat pro-life measures, this will continue.

Pro-Life Congresswoman Jackie Walorski Killed in Automobile Accident

I am saddened about Congresswoman Jackie Walorski's sudden and tragic death in a car accident. Although I didn't know her personally, I admired her strong pro-life views and commitment to her faith. She will be missed.

When Baby Killing Was Legalized in New York
|
|
New York State Assemblyman George M. Michaels, who was Jewish, represented a strongly Catholic district in Auburn, NY and was going to vote NO to liberalizing New York's abortion law. He changed his vote at the last minute to "AFFIRMATIVE." Michaels' vote was the deciding vote to legalize abortion in New York State.
Here is a video of Michaels speaking on the House floor:
|
|
A recent article in the Forward indicates why Michaels changed his vote:
"If I am ever going to have peace in my family...I cannot go back to them on the first night of Passover and tell them that George Michaels defeated this bill."
On April 11,1970 Governor Nelson Rockefeller signed the bill into law. Millions of babies have been killed by abortion in New York State.

How many women really died from illegal abortion prior to Roe v. Wade?
|
|
Carole Novielli at LiveAction.org did comprehensive research and a look back at all the lies that were propagated during the years prior Roe v. Wade to misinform the public, lobby politicians and influence the High Court into supporting abortion. Bernard Nathanson (who presided over thousands of abortions and later became pro-life) admitted that he and Larry Lader, a Margaret Sanger biographer, made up the numbers

Elliot Resnick tackles the pro-abortion slogan. Young women, he argues, do indeed have a choice to make with their bodies -- but that choice comes before a baby starts growing in their womb.

"Forced Pregnancy Is Involuntary Servitude" says Ms. author

After reading this article, you will ask why - if pregnancy is this dangerous - author Carrie N. Baker stops short of calling for forced sterilization for all women (sorry, I meant "people.") Sterilization is the answer to all the horrific symptoms Baker lists. "Abortion bans...force pregnant people to do something with their bodies against their will." Apparently, abortion-feminists now hold the belief that women are too stupid to have a will of their own before they get pregnant. Memo to Ms. Baker: Calling pregnancy involuntary servitude is an insult to black Americans and the terrible legacy of slavery. Slaves had no choice. Women do.

"My Religion Makes Me Pro-Abortion
|
|
What would life be like without the National Council of Jewish Women, and the apoplectic (her word) "Rabbi" Danya Ruttenberg spouting off her usual vitriol and hateful diatribes against Christians, pro-lifers, and anyone who believes babies are human beings with a right to be born. Her latest piece in the Atlantic is a doozy, chock full of the usual distortions of Jewish law.
The NCJW website slogan: "Protecting women, children and families." Even though their radical abortion disinformation campaigns harm women, destroy children and separate families forever.

"Abortion Involves Killing – and That’s OK!"

Abortion radicals are off their minds. These people are evil. This article proves it. If this woman really believes what she wrote, she should never have a child.

Self-forgiveness is essential to self-healing.
- Ruth Carter Stapleton.
The Jewish Pro-Life Foundation hosted their After Abortion Healing Event for Jewish women on July 24th, and it was a wonderful, compassionate exchange of women who were hurt by previous abortion experiences, and were there to heal. It was an open and sharing experience for the women who attended.
The JPLF will be hosting Tikvat Rachel Healing Events in the future. Stay posted, and we will keep you informed.
If you know a Jewish woman who regrets a previous abortion, please ask her to contact:

The Jewish faith has more in common with Christian pro-life values than with Rabbi Barry Silver. Nothing in the Torah defends killing babies. "Choose life, that you and your offspring will live." Deuteronomy 30:19.
