Act 1, Scene 11:

Fall Finals & Winter Break

Hello {First Name},

Two events, both alike in dignity,

In fair Davis, where we lay our scene ...

Shakespeare may have said it better in Romeo and Juliet, but we like the idea. Finals and winter break are indeed alike in dignity.

There is dignity in demonstrating what you've learned. You've done it throughout the 10 weeks of the fall quarter in class, in labs, and in homework and midterms. While finals can be stressful, they give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you've learned over the quarter. So, take a deep breath and answer one question at a time—you've got this!

And speaking of plays, intermission anyone? We encourage you to take small study breaks this week to regroup and restore your energy, all while keeping your eyes on the prize ... the winter break that's just days away! The time between quarters offers a change of routine, a chance to relax and rest, a chance to connect (or reconnect) with family and friends, and an opportunity to plan for what's ahead.

So, remember that whether you are donning your cap and gown for graduation or thinking about summer research … the world is your stage, and you are the player.

Again, you’ve got this!
