36 new names added to the California Firefighters Memorial in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO — Hundreds of people are in Sacramento this weekend to honor firefighters who died in the line of duty. The annual event began Friday with a bagpipe ceremony at the California Firefighters Memorial wall in Capitol Park.

The memories are still fresh for friends and family of fallen firefighters. There were 36 new names etched onto the Memorial Wall.

The CDF Wagon Train was formed in 1983 to foster friendships and enjoy good fellowship among CDF'ers (Cal Fire) by providing organized campouts for its members. Membership in the Wagon Train is a screaming deal at only $5.00 per year! Our campouts are typically filled with optional activities with many group (potluck) style meals and campfire gatherings at night.
