Website Changes

We've made changes to the menu bar of the member side of the L2881 website. The Retirement page can now be accessed directly from the menu bar as well as list of all District/Chapter meetings for the year. The MOU Salary Calculator has been moved under the Resources tab.

The 13th Annual CAL FIRE Benevolent Golf Tournament at Cache Creek was this past month. Thank you to everyone who came out to play and to those who donated items to the raffle and auction. We hope to see you at the 14th annual event next year!

Last month, Local 2881 members joined hundreds of firefighters from across California to advocate for bill AB 1383 (McKinnor). This proposed legislation focuses on enhancing the current retirement law for public employees, with updates including:

• Reducing the retirement age of public safety personnel to 55. Current age is 57.
• Adjust the pensionable compensation cap to align with the IRS compensation cap.
• Create a safety plan option that provides a 3% @ 55 formula (subject to bargaining).

This is what solidarity looks like. This is the power of unity in action. Together, we are stronger.
