Cal Fire's firefighting training camp offers empowerment to young women in Shasta County


REDDING, CA — Camp Cinder, a highly anticipated firefighter training camp exclusively designed for young women ages sixteen to eighteen, successfully entered its second year in Shasta County.


Originally established in San Luis Obispo, Cal Fire aims to provide a safe, dynamic, and challenging environment for participants to gain strength, knowledge, and confidence in their firefighting abilities and beyond. Camp Cinder's mission is rooted in empowering young women and instilling in them a sense of empowerment and the belief that they can excel in any career they choose.

4th of July Mixed Berry Crescent Pizza

Ingredients:


  • 1 can (8oz) refrigerated Pillsbury Sweet Hawaiian Crescent Rolls
  • 1 package (8oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup marshmallow cream
  • 1 cup chopped fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 3 tbsp hot fudge


Directions:


  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In ungreased 15x10x1 pan, unroll dough. With floured fingers, press in bottom and 1/4 inch up sides to form crust, pressing perforations to seal.
  3. Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely, about 30 min.
  4. In medium bowl, beat cream cheese and marshmallow creme with electric mixer on medium speed 1 to 2 minutes or until well mixed. Carefully fold in 1/2 cup of the strawberries until well blended. Spread evenly onto cooled crust. Top with remaining 1/2 cup strawberries, the raspberries and blueberries. In small microwavable bowl, microwave hot fudge uncovered on High 15 to 20 seconds or until thin enough to drizzle. Drizzle hot fudge over berries.
  5. Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate 1-2 hours before serving.
