DECEMBER 2020
Year-End Giving Update
By Tobin Truslow, Director of Development
Thank you so much to everyone who has supported Firefly Autism in a year where we need it more than ever. Every dollar to Firefly Autism goes to support our amazing programs for our youth and families in Colorado. We could not do the amazing work within the autism community without people like you.
As we close out 2020 there is still work to be done, programs to grow and families to support. We are looking to raise another $20,000 or roughly $1,000 a day to kickstart a new decade of continued growth as a leader in the Autism community.
Colorado Gives Day Report:
Our hearts were filled with joy Tuesday, December 8th on Colorado Gives Day. We surpassed our goal and received contributions from over 80 generous individuals, all boosted by the $1 million incentive fund provided from Community First Foundation and FirstBank.
Colorado Child Care Tax Credit:
There is still time to make your year-end gift to Firefly Autism, qualifying for the Colorado Child Care Tax Credit. The Child Care Contribution Tax Credit (the CCTC) provides a valuable tax credit against your Colorado state income tax. The credit equals 50 percent of the amount of your contribution to Firefly Autism. You may also deduct your charitable contribution made to Firefly Autism if you itemize your deductions.
Year End Stock Donations:
As you probably know, the stock market is up, and this is a great opportunity leverage your position and make a stock donation to Firefly Autism. For more information please contact me at ttruslow@fireflyautism.org

Board Member of the Month
Meet Sandra Gudat
Each month Firefly Autism introduces you to another member of our distinguished and generous Board of Directors. In November, Sandra Gudat became the new President of the Board. This month we wanted to introduce her to you and share a little bit of her story.

Sandra is the President and CEO of Customer Communications Group and Publisher of customer.com
For 30+ years she has been helping executive level managers and Boards at organizations like Nordstrom, Macy’s and GM articulate and implement a common vision and roadmap for customer centricity. In 2012, her company was recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest growing companies in America. Sandra is also the publisher and Editor-in-Chief of customer.com, a website dedicated to helping Fortune 2000 companies improve their customer centricity initiatives.
Sandra’s son, Alec is on the spectrum. Alec is the most unique, interesting and flabbergasting person she knows. In February of 2016, Alec was one of the many reasons she joined the Board. Sandra says, “I am proud to serve on the Board of such an amazing, world-renowned organization like Firefly. FFA is leading the way in the treatment of kids and young adults on the spectrum. They have been a pioneer in collecting and using the student’s behavioral data to shape their therapies and change lives and I LOVE that, being a data-geek myself!”

Sandra’s core values stem from believing in the dignity and un-replicability of every human being and that is my driving force with everyone with whom I interact. It is why she has been highly successful in a consulting business which promotes customers and looks for ways to better their experience with a brand, and it is why she serves on the Board of Firefly Autism.

Firefly Autism is expanding again. Already serving families and individuals with autism in the Denver Metro area as well as Colorado Springs, Firefly is once again connecting ABA services to those who need it most. We are expanding to the Grand Junction, Fruita and Palisade area.

Please join Firefly Autism for a (virtual) Community Outreach Zoom Event on December 17th at 5:30pm. Information about the services offered to children and adults with autism will be shared. Firefly Autism directly connects families with services and supports to better the life of the client and benefit the family, as a whole.
We encourage everyone to join us and learn more about Firefly Autism's mission.

Please share this information on your networks, and personally let any of your friends who live in Western Colorado know!
