2025-2026 Firewood Bank Funding

AGH is excited to share that another year of firewood bank funding is on its way! This fourth year of firewood bank funding will focus on assisting firewood banks to acquire low-grade wood from federal lands. Read more in our release here.


More information on eligibility and guidelines will be made available on September 1st at firewoodbanks.org. Sign up for our grant info session, happening September 11th from 3-4 PM (Eastern), here. Applicants will be able to access and submit the grant application beginning on September 15th.

Firewood Bank Assistance Program 2024-2025 Annual Report


This annual report gives an in-depth look into the grantees and outcomes of the third year of the Firewood Bank Assistance Program. Small grants, totaling $875,060, were distributed to 83 firewood bank programs across the United States from May 2024 to December 2024. With the average grant size of around $10,543, grantees served approximately 15,053 homes with 14,114 cords of wood.

Second Wood For life Workshop Held August 12-13th


Sessions from the workshop included, community and cultural values, "Wood For Life - Neighbors and Networks," funding and financing opportunities, "Making Shared Stewardship Work, and Indigenous workplace solutions, as well as numerous peer-to-peer learning sessions.


The Wood For Life program works to connect wood from forest restoration projects to Indigenous communities. They operate in Northern Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada, California, Montana, and Idaho.
