A website doesn't have to be expensive. Basic domain registration and website hosting often cost less than $100–$200 per year, and many free or low-cost website builders make it easy to create a website from scratch or from a template. Developing and maintaining a website can also be a great volunteer opportunity for community members who want to support the firewood bank but are unable to participate in physically demanding work at the wood lot.

Firewood Rules and Regulations Map

If you haven't already, we encourage all firewood banks to check out Don't Move Firewood's comprehensive rules and regulations map. Understanding firewood movement restrictions helps prevent the spread of invasive insects and tree diseases, protecting the forests that provide the resources our communities depend on. Firewood banks have an important role to play as stewards of these forests, ensuring they remain healthy and resilient for generations to come.

Webster Wood Bank in Franklin County, Maine, run by the United Methodist Economic Ministry, is hoping to provide 300 cords of wood next winter.

AGH tabled at the 4th annual "International Firewood Expo" in Ohio last month. This provided a great opportunity to let firewood dealers and firewood processing companies know about the mission of firewood banks.
