"Finalize plans with counsel..."  Proverbs 20:18 (CSB)

Over the course of the past few years much planning has taken place within our church. Here is just a sampling...

* How do we replace a pastor who has been here for almost  20 years?

* How do we revise By-Laws that were written over 40 years ago now that our church has grown and needs to minister to a new and diverse culture?

* How do we effectively disciple the members while reaching our community?

Well, over time many of these questions have been answered due to prayer and planning by deacons, committees, teams and the staff.

The last two items are plans that are coming together quite rapidly. First, our By-Laws Revision Team has presented their recommendation to the church and will hold a final Question and Answer session on Sunday, August 20 at 5:00 p.m.

Secondly, we will try a new schedule which shifts our Sunday night studies and training to Wednesday nights. These plans did not just happen, they were prayed through, studied and discussed to make sure wise counsel from God and from leaders within the church was obtained.

Yes, the implementation of plans can and many times do mean that changes will have to be made. But if we have a willing and open heart God can use change for His glory... which is what our lives should be about, bringing honor and glory to Him.

So, as we embark on a new schedule on Wednesday nights let's come together with excitement, anticipation and a plan to grow in our faith, our relationship to God and others, and to see Him honored in all that we do in order that others see Jesus in and through us!
