This month's FMMP brings two phenomenal women who attained the rank of General Officer and became part of our Army's history. Born to a father who was an Italian immigrant, World War II veteran, Silver Star recipient, and schoolteacher, and their mother, an educator, LTG Maria Barrett, and MG Paula Lodi are the United States Army's first-ever sisters to make General Officers.
LTG Barrett and MG Lodi will join us and share how they leaned on each other, their parents, and two other siblings to keep them strong during their journey to attaining the rank of General Officer. Moreover, we will discuss the importance of Soldiers and Civilians having supportive families to encourage them to stay strong during the hardest times of their lives and careers. Whether they were born into a family, adopted by a family, or selected their family from the environment they work in, it is important to have a support system to help them through rough times. We will also discuss how leaders play an integral role in creating an extended family for their subordinates by providing a safe environment filled with empathy, responsiveness, and trust for them to feel comfortable reaching out for help and support. We hope you can join us for this candid discussion.
