Please join us in prayer for the many youth, adult leaders, volunteers, planners, and speakers heading towards New Orleans for the LCMS Youth Gathering. May this experience deepen their love for Jesus, strengthen their identity as His beloved children, and equip them to live boldly as His witnesses in the world.

We thank God for the 19 SMP Pastors and 5 SMP Vicars currently serving in the Florida-Georgia District. May the Lord continue to bless their formation, strengthen their service to His Church, and use them to proclaim Christ faithfully in their congregations and communities.

Prayers for complete healing after surgery for prostate cancer.

Elaine Stier, wife of Rev. Don Stier |Immanuel Tavernier, FL

The shoulder she had replaced last summer has become infected, and she will soon return to Mayo Clinic for surgery. Doctors will remove the current implant, place a temporary one with antibiotics, and later insert a new one once the infection clears. She remains thankful that this is treatable and asks for your continued prayers and support.

The Florida-Georgia District Educators Conference provides professional development for teachers, DCEs, Family Life Ministers, and administrators with both keynote and breakout sessions and Ed Camp.

Keynote Speakers this year are Sarah Salzberg, Mychal Thom and a special presenter for Early Childhood - Dr. Anette Anschutz.

From Marine to Pastor: Welcoming Rev. Stephen Wareham to Messiah | Valdosta, GA

Messiah Lutheran in Valdosta, GA held the Ordination and Installation of Rev. Stephen Wareham as their new pastor.

The service was led by President Rev. James Rockey, joined by several visiting clergy, including Rev. Timothy Barber, Rev. Richard Boyd, Interim Pastor Rev. Dr. Richard Lohmeyer, Rev. Gary Bowman, Rev. Stephen Fair, Rev. Earl Steffens, and Rev. John Lehenbauer.

Rev. Stephen Wareham is a 35 year old Marine veteran, and father of two, who graduated Concordia Seminary, St. Louis on May 17, 2025. He has also been accepted into the Navy's Chaplain Candidacy program, and received his commission as an inactive-reserve Navy Chaplain on March 16, 2025. He is an enthusiastic outdoorsman, enjoying activities such as hunting, fishing, camping and hiking. 

A warm welcome celebration followed the service, where the congregation had the opportunity to meet and greet Pastor Wareham and his family. He shares, "I look forward to serving Jesus Christ, the congregation of Messiah Lutheran, and the community of Valdosta in my position as Pastor."
