FOCUS OF THE MONTH

Reasonable Accommodations

Reasonable accommodations (RAs) are essential protections that help people with disabilities access and maintain stable housing. Many housing barriers don't stem from noncompliance, but instead from policies or environments that do not account for disability-related needs. By allowing necessary flexibility, RAs ensure individuals can safely and successfully remain housed.

Grounded in federal and state law, these protections help prevent unnecessary housing loss, reduce crises, and promote equitable access. Equal treatment does not always mean identical treatment—sometimes a policy adjustment is required to provide meaningful access.

We recognize that the RA process can be complex and situation-specific, so we have developed a Reasonable Accommodation Support Tip Sheet and accompanying landing page to provide clear, practical guidance.

The tip sheet provides an action-oriented framework, guiding case managers through identifying needs, preparing documentation, submitting requests, following up, and more. Designed as both a reference and workflow tool, it promotes effective advocacy to help participants maintain stable housing.

We hope these resources are helpful to you and we look forward to your feedback!

ICMS Snapshot Updates

March 17th, 2026

The Trainings Log tab was added to the ICMS Snapshot.

This tab provides a list of all ICMS trainings completed by each active case manager assigned under a provider’s ICMS contract. It displays the name of each training completed and the associated completion date, helping providers monitor training participation and ensure staff remain up to date on ICMS program guidance.

A new indicator was added to the "Program Enrollment and Billing Information" category in the Participant Level Summary tab.

The additional indicator added includes:

TLS? - Indicates whether the ICMS participant is currently associated with a Time-Limited Subsidy (TLS) enrollment based on available data.

Possible values for "TLS?" include:

  • Blank – No active TLS enrollment is detected
  • Yes – Not Matched to PSH – Participant is enrolled in TLS but not matched to a permanent supportive housing (PSH) opportunity
  • Yes – Matched to PSH – Participant is enrolled in TLS and has been matched to a PSH opportunity
  • Yes – Exchanged to PSH – Participant has transitioned from TLS to a PSH opportunity

January 23rd, 2026

The Scattered Site Level Summary tab was added to the ICMS Snapshot.

This tab provides a summary view of all scattered site ICMS slots active under a provider’s contract. It displays aggregated metrics related to program enrollment and billing, staffing, service delivery and documentation, participant resources and statuses, and care team coverage. The information in this tab can be used to support program oversight and care coordination for scattered site ICMS operations.

January 20th, 2026

Three new summary tabs were added to the ICMS Snapshot to provide additional visibility into ICMS program operations and service delivery across different levels of a provider’s ICMS operation.

Provider Level Summary

The Provider Level Summary tab provides a summary view of all ICMS slots active under a provider’s contract. It displays aggregated metrics related to program enrollment and billing, staffing, service delivery and documentation, participant resources and statuses, and care team coverage.

Case Manager Level Summary

The Case Manager Level Summary tab provides a summary view of ICMS program activity across each case manager assigned under a provider’s ICMS contract. It displays aggregated metrics related to program enrollment and billing, service delivery and documentation, participant resources and statuses, and care team coverage for each caseload.

Building Level Summary

The Building Level Summary tab provides a summary view of all ICMS slots associated with each building where a provider delivers site-based (project-based) ICMS. It displays aggregated metrics related to program enrollment and billing, service delivery and documentation, participant resources and statuses, and care team coverage across each building.
