Art at the Library

Come check out our two new art exhibits, on display now until March 15!

Falmouth Middle school has been participating in the Lions International Peace Poster contest for 22 years. This annual art contest is held in 60 countries around the world for students age 11,12 and 13. This year over 600,000 students participated. The contest encourages young people to think about world peace and creatively express what it means to them. Through this annual program, the Lions hope to foster a spirit of international understanding and cooperation among the world’s children. We are proudly displaying two decades of Falmouth Middle School champion posters at the Falmouth Memorial Library.

Maria Cianchette is an artist local to the Portland area and focuses her artwork on landscape paintings of coastal Maine. With a background in graphic design, Maria's work aims to blend contrast and simplicity with the right amount of detail and depth. This collection features some of southern Maine's most beautiful scenes, including many marsh and ocean views highlighted by expansive skies and light playing across water's surfaces.
