As you prepare to begin your journey at Wake, we are excited to officially introduce you to The Forest — Wake Forest’s residential experience and your home base for living, learning, and belonging.

From Angelou to Poteat, your residence hall will be the center of a community that stretches from your room to every corner of campus. In The Forest, living and learning are inseparable.

You will connect with peers, resident advisers, academic advisors, Faculty Fellows, and campus resources designed to support you as you settle in, explore who you are, and discover who you want to become.

The most important thing you’ll find in The Forest is yourself. So dive in.

• One of the greatest resources in The Forest lives just down the hall. Your Resident Adviser (RA) will be one of your first connections on campus and an important part of your support network throughout the year. RAs serve as mentors, cheerleaders, connectors, and trusted partners as you navigate your transition to Wake. They have recently been in your shoes and are ready to help you find your place, build relationships, and make the most of your experience.
  
• Your RA is supported by a Community Director (CD), a full-time, live-in professional staff member who oversees multiple residential communities. CDs work closely with RAs to foster welcoming, engaging, and supportive environments where students can thrive. Whether you have a question, need guidance, or are looking for additional support, your CD is another resource committed to helping you feel at home in The Forest.

• Faculty Fellows prove that professors are really people. Faculty members affiliated with residence halls who help bring Wake Forest’s academic community into everyday residential life. They host events, join students for conversations and outings, and help make connecting with faculty feel a little less intimidating.

• Think of your Forest Guide as your go-to person during New Deac Week Orientation. They're here to help you navigate your transition to the University, answer those first-week questions, and make sure you feel right at home at Wake Forest from day one.
  
• Adjusting to college can be challenging. Wake The Forest is designed to support you through your first six weeks on campus. With special programming to help ease the transition to college life, you can expect a little extra TLC from your Wake Forest family. You’ve got this, Deacs! And we’ll be with you every step of the way.
