Abbie is the Foundation's Director of Civil Legal Assistance Programs.

What do you do?

I started working with the Foundation as an independent contractor during the pandemic while attempting to homeschool a first grader and occupy a two-year-old. Most of my work was done in the evenings, and I treasured the time to be inquisitive and creative in reimagining the Foundation’s role as a funder. Now, as Director of Civil Legal Assistance Programs, I get to focus my energy on expanding access to legal resources through our IOLTA and CLAF grant-making activities, special initiatives like our contract with IHCDA, and vital programs like Indiana Legal Help and the Coalition for Court Access.

A Little More...

When I’m not at work, I spend most of my time trying to keep up with the energy and intensity of my two sons – Simon (10) and Austin (6). I pride myself on cheering loudly from the sidelines of soccer and basketball games, keeping LEGOs sorted by color, and preparing family meals as often as I can. My husband Shawn and I met at DePauw University and have been married for 17 years. We dream of taking more vacations, renovating our basement, and retiring to someplace warm.
