In town for Stockholm Pride? The photographs Tom took of friends and partners, to use as inspiration and reference-pictures for his world-famous homoerotic drawings, are now exhibited for the first time at Fotografiska.
The contest is open to any artist with the exception of previous winners of this contest, or artists who are already selling erotic work commercially. All others are eligible – anyone who creates erotic works of art.
“Very sadly, we will not be able to reopen House of Illustration and it’s heartbreaking that
Love and Liberation was only open for 10 days, particularly as we had such an amazing response from people in that short time.” -- Olivia Ahmad, curator, House of Illustration, 27th July
Tom of Finland’s influence is so vast that it can be hard to calculate. Any time a stylist puts a young pop star in a leather biker cap for a magazine shoot, the impact of Tom of Finland is not far-off.
