The Fourth Sunday in Lent - Laetare Sunday
This Sunday, we’ll observe Laetare Sunday. The purple of Lent is lightened to a rose/pink color. Laetare is Latin for “rejoice.” The ancient Latin Mass began with these words on this Sunday: "Rejoice, O Jerusalem: and come together all you that love her: rejoice with joy, you that have been in sorrow: that you may exult and be filled from the breasts of your consolation. What a word for a time like this. Although we cannot “come together” physically this Sunday, we will be together through the Facebook live cast.

This passage from Philippians 4 picks up the theme with a promise for peace in our souls:

Rejoice [ in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.  Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.  Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
The Fourth Sunday in Lent will be live
at 10:00 am, March 22
Join us Sunday for our "live-streamed" service at 10:00 am.

Head to our website where you will find instructions for how to join the service and a copy of the service leaflet you can use to follow along.

Can't make it at ten? The video will be available afterwards for viewing at a later time. Last Sunday over 300 people viewed the live-stream including members, former members, friends of the parish, and many others. This week we will have a technical assistant to help with the camera, so hopefully it will be a bit smoother.

After the service, Cheryl and Paul will host a "Zoom" Coffee Hour (see details below).

Keeping up with your pledge
during the Covid-19 Shut-down.
On March 15, we gathered together, though separated, to pray and give thanks on the Third Sunday of Lent. This was the first of what may be several Sundays where our church family cannot be together physically for worship and fellowship, but can meet only virtually.

In this new normal of live streaming, working remotely, and social distancing, many of us will also be without the opportunity to present our tithes and offerings in the usual way. To help us keep on budget and avoid the need for any temporary withdrawals from the DIT (which would be very disadvantageous under present market circumstances), I ask that you try to remain current with your 2020 pledge.

You can do this by mailing your pledge envelope to the parish office, or using our on-line giving platform,  Tithely , or setting up automatic electronic payments to All Saints’ through your bank account. There is a link to the  sign-up on the All Saints’ homepage (at the Online Giving tab), and you can also read more at

Know also, that if your financial situation has changed on account of the coronavirus situation we understand that you may not be able to make all or any of your weekly or monthly gift at this time. If you are able, I ask that you continue in your giving.
Weekly Online Godly Play Videos from Cheryl
Each week we are shut-down Cheryl will be sending out a Godly Play lesson for families to view together.

This week it is the fourth of a series of lessons we often tell during Lent call the Faces of Easter. Check it out by following the link below.

Holy Week and Easter plans being made.
It seems likely that activities will still be restricted for Holy Week and Easter. Please know that we are beginning to make plans to gather virtually during that week, particularly on Maundy Thursday when we traditionally gather for the Agape Meal. Stay-tuned as those plans begin to take more formal shape!
Easter Flowers are still coming!
We have not canceled our Easter flowers from Wilson Farms in hopes that we might still be able to gather on that Sunday. If not, we plan to fill the church with flowers nonetheless.

So...won't you consider making a donation toward the flowers in memory of a loved one? You can send a check to the church (print the names you want listed in the Easter service leaflets), or use Be sure to email Cheryl the names you want listed if you use the Tithely option at
On-line Resources collected on our website
Check out the new tab on our website called - "Online Resources." Our Co-Rectors will be adding content to the list of resources while in-person activities are suspended. There are things for both individuals and families.
