Open Invitation to Show Off our New School!
The Germantown Municipal School District and the City of Germantown are excited to share Forest Hill Elementary School with the community later this month.

The school doors will open to the general public from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Sat., Aug. 24. Students and teachers will be on hand along with parent volunteers to offer tours. Each tour takes approximately 40 minutes.

“This building is special because it was designed by the stakeholders that will use it,” said Superintendent Jason Manuel describing the educational space.

Below are more features about our new school to share with your friends and family. All are invited to come experience FHES for themselves on Sat., Aug. 24!
  • The first school built in Germantown since 1982, the 110,000 square-foot hub for enhanced learning will serve students in kindergarten through the fifth grade.
  • The school features large windows in the classrooms and corridors which allow daylight and views into the heart of the building.
  • Opportunities for learning extend beyond the building and throughout the 36-acre site which includes a historic oak tree and a pond. A theatrical stage, a full-service art studio, and gym with hardwood basketball court will be amenities available to the larger community of the Germantown Municipal School District.
  • Trademarks of GMSD capital projects are evident in the technologically advanced classrooms, media center, bright and welcoming corridors, and the integration of STEAM spaces throughout.
It's a Win-Win! Battle of the PTOs and the Memphis Redbirds!

Our Library Needs Your Help!
We have 15,000 shiny, new books in our amazing library. In the next two weeks, we need to get them all scanned into the inventory. We must be sure we received every book ordered and that each book is in the correct spot before we start letting the students check them out.

We have three scanners and laptops to use for this project, and many hands make little work! If you can help out with this project, please sign up using this link. What a wonderful mission we have ahead of us!

Support your Student, School, & Community!

Monthly "Teacher Treats" Non-perishable Drinks & Snacks Needed!
Each month the PTO plans a special “Teacher Treat” for our amazing FHES faculty and staff to show them our heartfelt appreciation for all they do.

This month we need your help stocking our beverage and snack closet with non-perishable items that we will then share with our faculty and staff.

If you are looking for a way to serve your child’s teacher but want to keep it simple, this is your opportunity! Here's what to do:
  • Follow this link to the Sign-Up Genius to sign up to donate an item on the list.
  • Label your donated items as “TEACHER TREATS” and turn them into the blue basket at the main entrance front office (or send them with your child along with those delivery instructions).
  • All items are due by Mon., Aug. 26.

Thank you in advance for helping us show our faculty & staff how appreciated they are!
