Got Gently Used Clothing or Gloves for the Health Room?
Thank you so much for all the supplies being sent in for Nurse Alison! It’s so helpful!

There are a few things she goes through quickly:
  • Gently used boys' and girls' clothing in smaller sizes
  • Non-latex gloves in sizes medium and large
  • 2x2 gauze with the slick coating that doesn’t stick to wounds

Looking to Pitch in? The Library Needs your Help!
The library is a great place to volunteer regularly!  Each day, our children check out wonderful new books to take home.  
Mrs. Mock, our librarian, needs our help with check out both before school and during the school day. She also has a few special projects such as stamping and color coding new books.

September Teacher Treat | Fruit Trays Needed!
September’s Teacher Treat will be served to our FHES faculty and staff this Tuesday morning, Sept. 17. 

Cappuccino Coffee Shop has generously donated coffee and donuts for us to serve, but we would also like 2 fruit trays to serve alongside these treats.

Spirit Night this Thursday at Domino's

Join us for Spirit Night at any local Domino's location this Thurs., Sept. 19 to earn 20% back for our school!

Flyers will be going home in Wednesday folders this week. You must present the flyer (or a piece of paper with our school name on it) for our school to get credit.

Foxtail Fling Venue Update and Auction Sneak Peek
We wanted to let all of our FHES families know that we have been in close contact with the owners of P.O. Press Public House & Provisions in Collierville, who was planning to graciously host our Foxtail Fling fundraiser, before their announcement to close their current location. We are happy to share that the owners are continuing to work with us to secure another location for our event next weekend and will cater the event for us even with the venue change.

Meanwhile tickets are still available, and the deadline has been extended to Thurs., Sept. 19. Tickets are $60 per person. Click the button below to purchase tickets, and your name will be added to the guest list. You won’t want to miss out on this exciting event!

Who is invited to Foxtail Fling?
Foxtail Fling is an adult only event (over 21) open to anyone who wants to support Forest Hill Elementary and have a good time!
How/When do I get my tickets?
Once you purchase your tickets through A to Z connect, your name will be added to the guest list along with your silent auction number. When you arrive, you will be given a wristband with your auction number on it to wear for the evening.
What should I wear to Foxtail Fling?
The attire for the event is dressy casual.

Family Night Coming Up at Forest Hill Grill
Thank you to Forest Hill Grill and all the families that came out to support us on our first spirit night on August 29!  

The kids were excited to see each other at the restaurant, and our sales generated $240 for our school!  

Our next spirit night at Forest Hill Grill will be Thursday, Sept. 26.

PTO Membership Update and Pizza Party Contest Ending Sept. 30
Don’t forget the class with the most overall participation at the end of this month wins a pizza party! The membership contest runs through Sept. 30 so sign up today!

FHES Book Fair Coming in October
Mark your calendars for the inaugural FHES Book Fair coming up on Thursday, Oct. 10. The fair will be open for shopping from 9:15 am to 7:30 pm.

Don’t forget to let your grandparents or other special friends know that they can eat lunch in the cafeteria with their favorite Fox and take them to the Book Fair in the gym after.

Foxes First Leadership Council
We have elected our representatives for our very first Foxes First Leadership Council!

Students in this council will…
  • Help give feedback and plan school events
  • Share information with peers (public speaking)
  • Initiate projects to better Forest Hill Elementary
  • Meet with leaders to learn how to become a better leader
  • Be a role model representative for our school!

Thank you to everyone who came to Grandparents’ Night! It was a huge success! We also appreciate our wonderful PTO and volunteers who made this event possible.

Thank You Parents & Friends! Battle of the PTOs at the Redbirds Game
We had close to 40 people representing FHES at the annual Battle of the PTOs Memphis Redbirds game in August.  

We enjoyed food, drinks, and watched an awesome fireworks show! On top of that, we earned $156 for FHES!

Call for Nominations | Teacher of the Month
The Germantown Education Commission is accepting nominations for Teacher of the Month. We can't wait to recognize the amazing teachers of Germantown!

Please submit nomination forms for FHES teachers making a positive impact on their students!

All monthly winners will be considered for Teacher of the Year. Also, any new teachers that win the Teacher of Month award will also be considered for the New Teacher of the Year award.

Houston High School College and Career Readiness Fair Sept. 19
HHS is home to over 1,900 students. We need your help in connecting them to different, local career pathways.  

HHS is hosting its first ever College and Career Readiness Fair for students.  

Traditionally, the school has invited in local colleges but is opening the door to include local businesses as well.  Come be a part of the inaugural year!

We are seeking people in various career paths:
  • Medical
  • Military
  • Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice
  • Manufacturing
  • STEM
  • Cybersecurity
  • Nutrition
  • Finance/Accounting
  • Marketing/Communications
  • Fine Arts/Television Media
  • Graphic Design/Visual Arts
  • AgroSciences
  • Local Entrepreneurs
  • Information Technology
  • Mental Health/Counseling

We are hoping to have multiple representatives from each pathway listed above. HHS will supply your business with a 4-foot section of table top or larger floor space if desired.

We are also offering affordable sponsorship opportunities ranging from $600 to $2,000 which will include naming rights for the Career Pathway Banners and Student Swag Bags. Or, if your organization is willing to supply bags please let us know.
