We’re always amazed at the people who continue to come out, the new faces we meet, and the relationships we continue to foster and grow. We made a strong emphasis on the importance of relationships on Saturday, how through relationships already established and relationships built throughout these three years even, allowed us to make it this far. When we say Together We Grow, it means ALL of us TOGETHER grow our communities, our youth, and each other. We really can't do it all alone.

We also want to thank everyone who came out for our Global Youth Service Day workday in April. It was awesome to see so many young people engaged in service. We want to thank the Sigma Beta Club of Pinellas County for partnering with us and choosing us as the program to support through Youth Service America. One of their youth, Chase, actually wrote the grant proposal and thought of us to include because he loved the work we do. They donated new wheelbarrows, weed suppressant cloth, and farm tools among other supplies.
If you haven't been to the farm recently, we got 500+ milk crates donated from the St. Pete Free Clinic! We had needed some for our storage shed, but when we were presented with such an abundance we wanted to take it a step further and start a Mini Garden Crate project. We’ll be planting some of our seedlings in the crates to give out to the community to start growing their own food. Come out and get one for your home!

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend. We certainly had an AMAZING celebration of three years last Saturday! We are so grateful for all who showed up in support of our work since we started back in Summer of 2019, and the partnerships that keep growing as we look ahead. We had food, cake, live jazz (thanks to the Al Downing Tampa Bay Jazz Association), NOMAD Art Bus painting, and so much gathering and togetherness.

We want to shout out another awesome volunteer group that came out from Catalina Marketing, who brought 30 employees from around the country for a service day at the farm. They were a big help! A couple of them helped us put together our 2 new sifters (see above). We will be welcoming more corporate and group volunteers in the coming months, so if your business, school, or group would like to have a unique and fun team building experience, reach out to us!

We want to highlight our People of Influence series with visits from our last two guest: Senator Darryl Rouson (see above) & Deputy Mayor Stephanie Owens (see left). It's so important for our youth to be exposed to people in public office especially ones who directly impact the work they do for the community.
In other celebratory news! We got to see some of our former Youth Ambassadors graduate this year. We are incredibly proud of them and know they will be doing amazing things with their futures.
Congrats Class of 2022!!!

500 gals of food scraps composted this month, as well as 2 tons of veggies
- Donations of various plants (surinam cherry, papaya and more) from Lida's Jungle on Central Ave!

"Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans. It is also often observed for celebrating African-American culture. We'd like to invite everyone to join us for a cultural celebration at the farm!"
Now a federal holiday, Juneteenth will be observed on Monday, June 20th! We want to give everyone the opportunity who may have the day off to come out and tend the soil, enjoy some African drumming, and share in the festivities at a unique gathering space where we grow food. We'll have seedlings, food, and more!
The Fresh & Local Greenhouse Project partnered with USF St. Petersburg Campus will be having the official ribbon cutting of the greenhouse before we kick off the festivities at 9am.
