Dear Christ Church, families and friends,
Electricity, water, and air conditioning have returned to Christ Church! Beginning this Sunday we return to normal hours of operation. This includes the Pre-School/PMO, Thursday morning Eucharist, college events, the office and all other events on our typical calendar.
Our A/V ministry is planning to livestream the 10 am service on October 6. None of the streaming equipment appears to have been damaged, and our crew will do their best to get the service out to anyone who cannot come to church.
Tomorrow’s blessing of the animals will proceed as planned at 3 PM on the church grounds. All are invited to bring their two or four legged family members. Please have them restrained by either a leash or pet carrier.
It’s now been one week since Helene stormed through Valdosta. I know that most of you have dealt with brush, limbs, and trees down. Some of us have been severely challenged with damage to your properties. Some of you remain without electricity. You continue close in our thoughts and our prayers.
Due to the hurricane the following changes are made to our October calendar:
The first Wednesday Eucharist, covered dish, and talk is moved to the 9th and begins at 6 PM. Oktoberfest will be held on the 24th. Elise Sandbach’s celebration will be on the same day as the church picnic and trunk of treats, October 27.
How can you help in our community? The Haven is in need of baby supplies, especially diapers, wipes, and baby food. Reach out to your Christ Church family members. A phone call email or text would mean a lot. Volunteer with established entities.
