GREETINGS FROM DR. G
It is a joyful January! The fact that 99 percent of our current families have registered for the 2025-2026 school year really warms my heart. This exceptional retention rate speaks volumes of the St. Rose School educational experience. Thank you for entrusting your precious children to us as, together, we plant the seeds, tend the garden and watch our students BLOOM in mind, heart and soul.
This week we had an extraordinary experience as visiting artist Rob Surette brought incredible people to life through his amazing paint techniques. We were treated to beautiful imagery and profound words of wisdom as Rob shared his story of becoming a Disney artist from a very young age. The students were enthralled and heard, very clearly, his message of believing in themselves, setting goals and giving it their all using God's talents to honor Him and bring happiness to others. My sincere thanks to Mrs. B and Mrs. Petrillo for arranging this most memorable assembly. Click here for photos.
The Science lab's student made stained glass windows are a beautiful sight to behold. Today, Middle School students participated in the much-anticipated egg drop experiment in the Gathering Hall lobby. Tangible learning at its best! In other class news, this afternoon our Kindergarten students had a snowball party with their parents in the Gathering Hall. Building bonds and making memories is a key part o the St. Rose School experience.
Catholic Schools Week is here. We kick it off on Sunday, January 26th with our Open House, 1:00-3:00 p.m. Thanks to all faculty, staff, parents and students who will be here to greet prospective families. Please share the word, walk ins are welcome. Some of our Middle School students will be speaking at Masses this weekend inviting parishioners to Open House. The proof of this exceptional education is in the poise and well roundedness of our students. We are truly blessed and look forward to opening our doors to prospective families on Sunday.
Our halls will be a sea of red and white for the spirit walk, mechanical pig races and pep rally on Monday. You can see the full list of Catholic Schools Week activities, that Mrs. B has colorfully created, below. I am grateful to her, the HSA and all who are working to make this an exciting week in our halls.

Friday Mass is always a highlight of the week. Fr. Peter's homily was so engaging, teaching us that we are all disciples of Christ, playing on the same team as we work together toward Heaven. This morning we welcomed some of our generous donors whose consistent support has helped us close the tuition gap and ensure this ongoing Catholic education for your children. We have a rich history and a bright future when such givers are in our midst. May God bless all who share their time, talent and treasure to benefit our beloved school.
Winter had a tight grip on us this week, but it looks like the weekend will be a little warmer. Enjoy some family time. Please pray for our second graders who will receive their First Reconciliation tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m. I will see some of you at Open House on Sunday. I know I'll be getting ready for the 8th grade vs. Faculty volleyball game, which is always a friendly, yet competitive event. We are looking forward to a wonderful Catholic Schools Week!
God bless,
Dr. G
