THE FRIDAY REVIEW

St. Rose School

October 7, 2022

"A sweet friendship refreshes

the soul."

-Proverbs 27:9

Greetings from Dr. G

What a wonderful week it's been in our halls!  Lessons are lively and leadership is being demonstrated in many ways including the exciting Student Council elections.  Congratulations to all of the newly elected officials as well as to all students who participated.  These experiences build character and make lasting impressions.

Field Day was a blast!  After two days of rain the sun came out and games were played under bright blue skies.  School spirit was on great display among both faculty and students.  Later that day Preschoolers and Fourth graders enjoyed time together outdoors as their first Buddy activity.  The bonds that are forged between upper grade students and their younger buddies add a special dimension to the learning journey at St. Rose School.

Thank you to all who have attended the School Safety class and received Virtus Training.  These are both necessary if you want to volunteer in the classrooms and at other school events.  The final Safety training will be held on October 18th, 1:15-1:45 p.m.  Please register with Mrs. Sweeting, [email protected].  We are grateful for your cooperatoin and support of the school.  Later  this month we will be holding Safe environment classes for grades K-8.  Please click here for details inlcuding an opt out form if you prefer that your child(ren) not attend the class.

On another safety note, please follow the Car Walk protocoals and map.  As a friendly reminder we also ask that parents/family members not enter the school during drop off and pick up which is an especially hectic time that requires our complete attention to ensure the safety of your children.  Thank you for your cooperation.

As our Middle School students begin their High School search please keep in mind upcoming Open Houses and Entrance exam dates at various Highs Schools.  You can find these in the newsletter as well as in Adventures in Student Life.

Next Friday we will have a special presesntation after Mass to award scholarships to four students, two in memory of Dr. August D'Alessandro for Faith & Leadership and two in memory of Monsignor Bob's brother Thomas Weiss for Service.  Recognizing students for their efforts and remembering those who made an impact during their lives is a blessing and we are fortunate to be able to do this within our faith community.

The long weekend is off to a wonderful start.  Take in the glorious colors of God's Autumn landscape, relax and refresh.  We look forward to another exciting week in our halls when we return on Tuesday October 11th.

God bless,

Dr. G
