Greetings from Dr. G
The educational journey is multi dimensional. This week we were delighted to have Newtown Hook & Ladder on campus teaching fire safety to our Preschool - 2nd grade students and Kindergarten welcomed Newtown Police officers Sargeant Ruszczyk and Sargeant Chapman into their classroom for a reading activity. We are thankful to our dedicated service people. Field trips are also underway giving students memorable experiences outside the classroom that enhance the curriculum. You can see all the highlights in Mrs. B's Adventures in Student Life.
Our Blooms Benefit, An Evening in Paris, is fast approaching! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year to benefit the students of St. Rose School. The guest list is robust with current and alumni parents, parishioners and commuity members. It's not to late to join us as we honor Monsignor Bob, our faithful shepherd, and raise funds for our beloved school. We are so grateful to our generous sponsors and donors to date. If you have questions about how to get involved email [email protected].
Please note the new dates for Parent-Teacher conferences, November 14, 15 and 16th. These will be early dismissal days with departure at 11:30 for the main school and 11:15 for the Preschool. Stay tuned for details about how to register for conferences. Please note a correction to last week's newsletter -- there will not be After Care on early dismissal days. I apologize for any inconvenience.
As a reminder as we look toward Winter and potential snowfall, the first three school weather related cancellations will be traditional snow days that will be added to the calendar in June. After three snow days we will employ elearning and those days will be counted as regular school days. We do know that December 14th will be an elearning day. As always I thank you for your cooperation.
Thank you for joining us at Friday Mass, which is such a treasured tradition and highlight of our school week. It is also a wonderful way for our students to get involved with the liturgy. We are grateful to Sister Thaddeus for continuing to plan our Masses and prepare the students for their various roles in it.
It looks like a wet weekend ahead, a good time for gathering with family and friends, reading a great book, watching a movie, praying the Rosary and taking time to relax. We will see your children back in our halls Monday morning.
