Greetings from Dr. G
God works in wonderful ways and we see the fruits of His love every day at St. Rose School. This morning our school family gathered for Mass and witnessed the Baptisms of Sixth grader Natalie Weeks and her Kindergarten brother Raylin Allen. Thanks to Sister Thaddeus and Monsignor Bob for guiding them to this beautiful sacrament and to Mr. Cappiello and Mrs. Rahtelli, their teachers, as well as their parents. The blessings of a Catholic education make life changing and lasting impact on the students and families who spend time in these halls.
Seventh graders took their lessons on the road this week travelling to Boston to spend an extraordinary day at the Museum of Science. By all accounts it was an amazing day of discoveries that brought science to life through insightful movies and hands on exhibitis. Thanks to our innovative Science teacher Mrs. Petrillo for making this a memorable trip.
Everyone loves the St. Rose School Buddy program and Advent/Christmas season is a festive time for shared activities. The Gathering Hall was like Santa's workshop as Fifth and First graders built elaborate gingerbread houses. The bonds that are forged between our older and younger students add a critical dimension to the educational journey.
I hope everyone had a chance to visit the school website to review our 2021-2022 Financial update. Here is the link in case you missed it. Thanks to the hard work of our entire school community we are in solid standing. This is a continuous challenge but I am confident that together we can keep St. Rose School strong for the future.
Next Tuesday, December 13th, is the K-8 Art Show & Concert, A Christmas Celebration. Your children have been preparing beautiful creations and songs for this occasion under the caring guidance of Mrs. Ferriter and Mr. Cappiello. I look forward to sharing Christmas spirit with you that evening. If you have any questions please email your child's teacher.
We will also have a special visitor in our halls on Tuesday the 13th. Superintendent Dr. Cheeseman will spend time on campus and in the classrooms that day. We look forward to giving him a warm St. Rose welcome.
Please remember that December 14th is an eLearning day. Our hearts and prayers will be joined as we remember the 10th Anniversary of the Sandy Hook tragedy. May God continue to watch over those so deeply affected and grant His peace that passes understanding.
On December 16th registration for the 2023-2024 school year will open for current families. We are grateful for the partnership and community we share. It is our great hope that you will continue your child's learning journey at St. Rose School -- you are our top priority which is why we are giving current families an early start on registration with a discounted fee. Given the high level of inquries, we know that seats will fill quickly so please take advantage of this window. General registration will open January 22nd at which time we cannot hold seats. It's exciting to know that the good word is out about St. Rose School!
