THE FRIDAY REVIEW

St. Rose School

November 4, 2022

“Be who you were created to be, and you will set the world on fire.”

- - -- St. Catherine of Sienna

Greetings from Dr. G

It was an uplifting week in our halls.

On Halloween students in grades K-2 lifted the hearts of many people as they paraded through the halls and across the street to Church Hill Village in costume, waving and calling hello to all they met. Kindergarten was especially captivating with their 101 Dalmations theme. Thanks to Mrs. B for organizing this parade, to our creative teachers/aides and to Officer Perez for leading the students safely across the street. It was a traffic stopping, heartwarming excursion.

On Tuesday we gathered at Mass for All Saints Day. Monsignor reminded us about the inspiratonal lives of the saints and how they are wonderufl role models. As a special tribute, two students from Sister Thaddeus' seventh grade Religion class, Kenneth McGahren and Shivanjali Bhagania, shared the stories of their chosen Saints, St. Peter and St .Rose of Lima. They did a terrific job as did all of the students who learned about and reported on these faithful men and women over the past weeks. It is a gift to live our faith openly as part of our daily education.

I hope you had a chance to read my mid week announcement welcoming Ms. Andrea Pincus as the School Counselor. Ms. Pincus is an accomplished alumna who will be an asset to our faculty and an important resource for your children. Click here to read more.

VETERAN'S DAY ASSEMBLY

On Friday November 11th the Knights of Columbus are hosting a Veteran's Day Assembly for Grades 5-8. Mr. Richard Moncton is arranging for a group of veterans to spend time with students to share some of their experiences. It is so important to recognize the valor and sacrifices of our brave men and women who serve and who have served our country. Winners of the 7th grade poster contest and 8th grade essay contest will be announced at the assembly and grades K-4 will have the opportunity to thank our veterans with a flag waving salute in the primary hallway.

God bless America, land of the free because of the brave. And thanks to our Kinghts of Columbus!
