Greetings from Dr. G
Our halls are humming with great energy during these golden days. Seeing happy, engaged students in all grade levels is a testament to this stellar academic, faith focused education.
Teachers and Staff met for Professional Develoment this afternoon; their unending dedication to helping students reach their potential is so evident.
As Field trips and class activities start to percolate, please be sure that you are Virtus trained and have taken the parent safety class at school. It is mandatory that both of these courses are completed if you are interested in volunteering at the school. If you have questions please email Mrs. Sweeting,[email protected].
Progress reports for grades 5-8 will be sent out as an email attachment on Saturday, October 14. This year's progress reports will be a one-page summary of the current average in each course. Itemized lists of every individual assignment score will still be available in PlusPortals. Progress reports are a helpful tool for gauging where students stand at this point in the quarter and are intended to be constructive. If you have any questions or concerns please email your child(ren)'s teachers.
We are very pleased that the Knights of Columbus will be running their annual Veteran themed essay and poster contest for 7th and 8th graders this year. My thanks to Mrs. Ferriter and Mrs. Nisco for coordinating on the school side. We will hold a Veteran's Day assembly on Monday November 13th at 1:15 p.m. Mr. Monckton, a school parent, Knight of Columbus and Veteran, is organizing this tribute to veterans. If you or a family member are a veteran and would like to be a part of this ceremony please email Mr. Monckton, [email protected] May God bless our veterans and all who serve our country. Many of our alumni are in the service and ROTC programs.
