Emory Medical Team Assistance

Tuesday May 20th and Wednesday May 21st

Once again, the Emory Medical Team will be providing basic services to the migrant workers in our area. Christ the King has requested assistance in serving these meals. There are many vegan and vegetarians and dishes in those categories are particularly appreciated.

Tuesday – May 20: Men in Blue will be cooking hamburgers to take. If you are unable to deliver your donation to Christ the King you can drop them off in the church kitchen from 1 -3 and we will deliver for you. We also have 100 pieces of fried chicken donated for that day.

Wednesday – May 21: Please take your donations directly to Christ the King no later than 3:30p.

Guidelines:  Clearly label all dishes identifying ingredients, i.e. nuts

                       Put dishes in disposable dishes.

Serving pieces should be plastic and disposable.

Workers to help serve are welcome.

SEARCH COMMITTEE UPDATE!

Dear Christ Church Family,

The Rector Search Committee is completing and forwarding our church profile to The Diocese of Georgia.

The Committee is deeply grateful for those who participated and shared their thoughts in the Lenten Dinner Conversations. In the near future, our parish profile will be posted on our church website for your viewing.

Below is an overview of what will happen next.

Preparation phase: The Committee used the information acquired from the Lenten Dinner Conversations to develop our parish profile and job description.

Job posting: The Rector position will be posted on the nationwide Episcopal News Service and other appropriate outlets.

Response phase: All applications will come to us via the Diocese of Georgia. The applications are collected by the Diocese for a period of time, so that applicants have plenty of time for prayer, personal discernment, and discussions with their family. They can withdraw their application at any time during this phase.

Committee discernment phase: The Diocese will release the applications, and the Committee will carefully consider the applicants and create a list of those we want to interview.

Interviewing phase: Depending on the number of applications, the Committee will agree on an appropriate interviewing strategy.

Please remember that the Committee is proactively seeking out exceptional candidates. This is where everyone can help. If you know of a potential candidate the Committee should consider, you are invited and encouraged to share the candidate's name and background directly with a member of the Committee.

Warm regards,

The Search Committee

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY: From 10:15-11:15 at Marcia McRae’s home. We will be studying The Cost of Discipleship by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. If anyone is interested in joining they can either show up or call Tammy Borders at 229-560-5889 for more information.
