At 9:15AM Children in the 5^th grade and younger meet in the Education (Gabard) Building.

Also, at 9:15AM Chris Roan continues her adult class on the Sunday Bible readings in the Parish Hall.

At 5PM students in the 6^th - 12^th grades will meet at in EYC Room in the Education Building.

Feature for in-person worship - Our hearing assistance feature is available as part of our sound system. This feature uses your smartphone, earbuds, or hearing aids to bring the sound directly into your ears. An information sheet is linked here, and copies are also available from the ushers or the Audio/Visual booth staff.

In an effort to cut costs, the Finance Committee has recommended that we move to email giving statements rather than printed and mailed statements. If your email has recently changed, please contact the church office so we can make that change in our records.

Budget Items

The Finance Committee would like to remind our ministry team leaders to please turn in your budgets for next year, either directly to Stefani or Amy, or to your Vestry Liaison. As you are considering your needs, it may be helpful to prioritize them into three categories:

1. Must have

2. Would be great to have

3. In a perfect world we would have.

Wednesday Night Bible Study

Bible Study on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm at the home of Ron & Tammy Borders located at 1718 Williams St. We are studying Encountering God-Cultivating Habits of Faith through the Spiritual Disciplines. If anyone is interested in knowing more or would like a book, you can call or text Tammy at 229-560-5889.

Rescheduled Church Tailgate Party with Grace Café!

Let’s get together to celebrate (almost) Fall and football at the Church tailgate party Saturday, September 23^rd from 5-7 pm.

We’ll set up food at Grace Café beginning at 5 pm. Bring your favorite tailgate dish to share. The Men in Blue will grill hamburgers, hotdogs, and sausages for us. All Christ Church friends and family are welcome!

Please RSVP Friday by 2:00 to the Church Office if you plan to attend so the Men in Blue can purchase enough meat.

Please note: Alcoholic beverages will only be permitted under/around the Men in Blue cook shed. Alcohol is not allowed inside Grace Café. 

Casserole Night at Grace Café

The fall semester is in full swing and so are the Grace Café Thursday dinners!

One way you can support this important outreach ministry is by making your favorite casserole for the September 28^th meal. To sign up, please contact the church office to let us know what you’re bringing and any special instructions (heating temp, duration, ingredients, etc.). We will need an index card with a listing of the ingredients on it for each casserole. This will protect any students who have food allergies or sensitivities.

Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest this year will be held in the parish hall on Tuesday, October 24^th, with the biergarten opening at 6:00 p.m. and dinner served around 6:30. On the menu: Usinger’s bratwurst from Milwaukee, potato salad and tossed salad, sauerkraut and other pickled things, rye bread, and beer and wine. Cost will be $15 per person. Please note that this is an adult gathering for those 21 and older (please have proof of age with you). Since Jane needs to know how many bratwurst to order, please sign up before October 11^th. There will be a sign-up sheet in the parish hall, or you can call the church office to leave your name. If you’d like to contribute by bringing potato salad (German or “regular”) or sauerkraut, there’ll also be a sign-up sheet for that in the parish hall. Danke schön!

Sunday Evening Vespers - a group of Christ Church members meet on Zoom (2nd, 4th, and 5th Sundays) at 6:00 p.m. to read the Compline Service, pages 127-135 in the Book of Common Prayer and for friendly conversation afterwards. The first and third Sundays of the month we will meet in-person, but will make an audio recording available after Vespers for those unable to attend in-person. To join the group and receive the link to the weekly gathering, contact Phyllis Hiers or call 229-563-2464.

Silent Auction items needed

The Honey Creek Commission is reaching out to all churches in hopes that we will help the Honey Creek Commission obtain silent auction items for the upcoming 2023 Convention. 100% of the proceeds of this auction go directly to our beautiful Honey Creek campus.

Items for the auction can be dropped off at the church office, or a commission member can gather it for you. Thank you for your assistance in supporting Honey Creek.
