A MESSAGE FROM

MARIYANA T. SPYROPOULOS

Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County

February 2026

Dear Community Partners,

February is here, and with it, we celebrate Black History Month—a time to honor the achievements and contributions of African Americans.

Last month, I attended Chicago's Annual Interfaith Breakfast, celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. As we participate in events this month, let's continue to be inspired by his message of unity and work together for a more inclusive community.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Annual Interfaith Breakfast

Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Grateful to join leaders from across Chicago at the Chicago Mayor's Office's Annual Interfaith Breakfast honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Thoughtful reflections from former Vice President Kamala Harris and meaningful conversations with colleagues including Senator Robert Peters, Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller, Cook County Commissioner Maggie Trevor, Alderman Walter Redmond Burnett and other elected officials made for a memorable and uplifting morning.

Q&A with Clerk Spyropoulos

There are many different divisions within the court, and the type of case you have determines where it’s handled. If you’re unsure which division your case belongs in, our website cookcountyclerkofcourt.org.

Visit to DuPage County Clerk of the Circuit Court

It was a great opportunity to connect with DuPage County Court Clerk Candice Adams and colleagues from the Northeast Circuit Clerks’ Association to hear about DuPage County Clerk’s Office initiatives and progress. Sharing ideas and best practices strengthens public service across our region.

Vasilopita

Marking the New Year with the tradition of Vasilopita, a meaningful moment rooted in community and gratitude. Wishing everyone a joyful and promising year ahead!

2026 Unity Award Gala

I was truly honored to attend the 2026 Unity Award Gala, presented by The Diversity Scholarship Foundation, and to receive the Advocates for Diversity Award alongside so many dedicated leaders.

The evening highlighted scholarship recipients from across Illinois and included the Swearing-In of Bar Presidents. It was especially meaningful to see members of our own court community in attendance and to be part of a night centered on education, service and community.
