February 2022
Happy February, Friends!

This month, alongside Vision Source, we are highlighting low vision awareness. Vision impairment, including low vision, can make it difficult to perform everyday tasks such as driving and reading, and is often caused by many different eye diseases, such as cataracts and glaucoma. Unfortunately, low vision tends to be a permanent issue and cannot be fixed by wearing glasses, taking medicine, or even getting surgery. However, there are ways to cope as well as vision rehabilitation services that you can take advantage of! Click here to learn more about low vision and ways you can deal with it.

We want to remind you all how important it is to schedule your yearly eye exam! You can also use your newly refreshed insurance benefits for some new contacts, glasses, or both! Prevention is key for many eye diseases, and having your eyes checked once a year is the best way to catch anything before it becomes too serious.

Click here to schedule your yearly exam with us today - we can't wait to see you!

In this month's newsletter, learn some fun facts about our very own Dr. Susan Lee and get to know our Brand of the Month, Tory Burch. You will also find some interesting articles from our blog with topics geared towards the whole family!

Tory Burch is an American lifestyle brand that expresses the personal style and sensibility of its Executive Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, Tory Burch.

Her parents, Reva and Buddy Robinson, were style icons in the 60’s and 70’s. Her career started at a Parisian flea market where she found a tunic that inspired her first design. Effortless and chic. Her ideas led to a continuing collection with a mix of color, print and character from classic and modern, tomboy and feminine, sophisticated and bohemian.

Her brand includes clothes, shoes, handbags, accessories and beauty. The sunglasses and eyeglasses range from classic to trendy.

There are many different ways a person can be colorblind, and only the rarest type results in seeing in black and white.

Complete color blindness is called monochromacy, and it’s so rare that only one person in 33,000 has it. For most people with color blindness, it only affects certain colors, and a few factors determine which ones and why, so let’s take a closer look at the different types of color blindness.

How much of your nightly routine is lit up by a bright screen?

For at least as long as we’ve had handheld devices connecting us to the internet, many of us have been online with our eyes glued to a screen late into the night. This is not an optometrist-approved bedtime ritual. Our screens emit blue light, which can impact our eye health and our internal clocks.
