As you may know, Mayor Menino has decided not to seek re-election.  He has served our city well for the last 20 years as our Mayor and deserves our gratitude.  His announcement has prompted a conversation about the future of our city and how we can ensure that Boston continues to move forward.

 

Over the past few days, I have received numerous phone calls, e-mails, and texts asking me if I will consider putting forth my candidacy.  The answer is yes, I am seriously considering running for Mayor of Boston.

 

The pundits say that we need to raise $1 million to win.  People may disagree with that estimate, but there is no doubt that a winning, grassroots mayoral campaign will require significant financial resources and a strong volunteer effort.
