A Future with Hope -

Paving the Way with Faith

What Does a Pledge Mean to You?

When you hear the word pledge, what comes to mind? Perhaps it’s a promise to stand by a friend through thick and thin, a commitment to care for the environment, a vow to support a cause close to your heart, or a financial gift to advance a mission that matters. However it’s expressed, a pledge is more than words - it’s a purposeful act, a reflection of our values, and a meaningful step toward making a difference.

At Gethsemane, pledging is more than a financial commitment; it’s a sacred act of faith. It’s a reminder that all we have is a gift from God, and through our pledges and offerings, we express our gratitude and invest in the future of our church community. Your generosity helps Gethsemane grow in hope, serve with love, and plan boldly for the year ahead.

This Sunday is Stewardship Commitment Sunday. Pledge forms will be available in the narthex or from an usher. You can also access the form online using the link below. Pledges may be submitted on Sunday with your offering as we celebrate our giving to God’s Kin-dom. Even if you give through the Vanco app or the Gethsemane website, we kindly ask that you still complete a pledge card. This helps us steward our resources faithfully and plan responsibly for the ministry work to come. Your pledge is a promise that empowers Gethsemane to live out its mission, today and into the future.

This Sunday, in addition to submitting your 2026 pledge, you’ll hear a special Mission Moment from Maryn Olson, who will share how generous giving has touched her life and the lives of others. Maryn plays an active role in the life of Gethsemane, serving on the Worship & Music and Altar Guild committees, and co-leads the Christmas Cheer gift ministry for families in need at St. Anthony’s. As Director of ELCA’s Lutheran Disaster Response, Maryn also helps communities around the world find hope and healing in the wake of disaster.

Let us come together in faith and generosity, pledging with hearts full of thanksgiving.

Thank you,

How to Pledge

A Future with Hope – Paving the Way with Faith

Pledges are important to help the Finance Committee develop an accurate projection of what will be contributed in 2026, help determine what Gethsemane can accomplish during the following year, and ensure that the needs of Gethsemane's staff are adequately supported.

To see a suggested giving amount, please reference this chart.

Next Sunday, November 23rd is Giving Sunday. From now until then, you are encouraged to fill out this online form to indicate your 2026 projected contribution. There will also be physical pledge cards available in the church narthex, if you forget or if you prefer to use paper.

To put your 2026 pledge into action, you can set up automated giving through Vanco or direct bank withdrawal (see the church office for the automatic withdrawal form). Giving envelopes will only be provided to those who request them.
