National Weather Service Blacksburg, VA Open House

Science Museum of Western Virginia, Roanoke, VA
Stop by any time between 10 AM and 3 PM Join us at the National Weather Service in Blacksburg, VA for a tour of the facility and learn how the weather affects our region and what tools we use to observe, forecast, and communicate the weather. Guided tours will last roughly an hour (the last tour group will start at 3:00 pm).
Activities include: Watch a Simulated Weather Balloon Launch, Hands-On Experiments,Child-Friendly Weather Activities and Games, VDOT Snow Plow, Virginia Department of Emergency Management communications Trailer, Virginia Tech Meteorology / Storm Chasers, Learn How Radar Works.
