This study aims to examine the impact of the Missoula, Montana housing market on the well-being of undergraduate students at the University of Montana. Survey participants will have the chance to enter into a raffle to win one of four $50 Visa gift cards! All responses will remain confidential and may be used in current or future research.

Civic Engagement Opportunity

Service Saturday: Beautify the Pov! Make the Pov sparkle! Volunteers are needed to clean, organize, and beautify The Poverello Center, a Missoula nonprofit providing a safety net for our community members living in hunger and houselessness.


The Poverello Center provides education, advocacy, and services to people struggling with poverty in Missoula.

Call for Cultural Liaisons!

Mansfield Center calling for Cultural Liaisons for the spring ‘25 YSEALI Fellows!


Want to help a YSEALI Fellow feel welcome in Missoula? Cultural Liaisons will be responsible for aiding in cross-cultural engagement by attending a welcome event and farewell dinner, teaching YSEALI Fellows to use the Missoula bus system, and spending a minimum of 2 hours a week with Fellows for 3 weeks.


Additionally, Liaisons will be eligible to apply in 2026 for a competitive small grant to collaborate with YSEALI Fellows on impactful projects focused on natural resource management. The grant will fully fund all travel to a participating country (Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam) and project-related expenses, giving you the chance to bring your ideas to life.

Research & Internship Grants

The Mansfield Center is pleased to announce $120,000 in funding to support University of Montana faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students working on projects and internships related to American democracy during summer 2025.

PEAS Farm Summer Scholarship

Apply for $500-1,000 scholarships to support undergraduate students enrolled in the PEAS Farm's Summer Practicum course, ENST 396. To apply, send a resume and short cover letter indicating how this scholarship will support your studies in sustainable food systems. Applications will be accepted until March 14, 2025. You must also submit a General Application in the UM Scholarship Portal to be considered.


Students must also be enrolled in ENST 396: Summer PEAS Farm Practicum, a 6-credit experiential and field-based summer program in sustainable agriculture and food systems. Send materials to PEAS Farm Lecturer, Caroline Stephens: caroline.stephens@mso.umt.edu. The award will be made by the EVST Scholarships Committee and the student notified in late March. 


8th Annual Black Solidarity Summit 

The 8th Annual Black Solidarity Summit will take place on UM’s campus February 27-28, celebrating and platforming Black, Indigenous, and intersecting voices through powerful speeches, artwork, and music.


Location: University Center Ballroom


his summit brings together Black Student Unions, African student associations, and experts on Black and Indigenous history and culture to discuss racial discrimination, honor historical figures and activists, and create a space for education, celebration, and solidarity.

Showing up for this opportunity is a meaningful way to support BSU and show solidarity with Black, Indigenous, and other intersecting communities on campus.
