Ukraine: The Fight for our Lives

Tuesday, February 25: 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. online

As Ukraine’s war enters its fourth year, murmurs of a potential ceasefire ripple through political circles. Iuliia Mendel, former press secretary to President Zelenskyy, reflects on the conflict she first shared with Mansfield audiences in September 2023 as she launched the earlier edition of her book, “The Fight of Our Lives.” With unflinching candor, Mendel dissects the missteps—Western hesitations, Ukrainian oversights—and questions whether the elusive end to this brutal chapter is finally within sight.

Climate Emotions Support Group!

Are you struggling with climate emotions? You’re not alone! Come join a space of fellow peers to help yourself and others work through how these emotions impact you. Share and learn coping skills in a supportive environment.

Starting in February, this group will consist of six one-and-a-half-hour sessions facilitated by a peer and a licensed clinical social worker, both of whom have their own experiences with climate emotions. We aim to create a welcoming space where everyone can share their unique experiences with climate change. By participating in this group, you will learn to support yourself and others by holding space for this challenge.

This group is part of a pilot study for a climate emotions support group and best practices tailored to our college community. By joining, you will help support Melody Irvine's undergraduate capstone research and raise awareness of the importance of such spaces in the Missoula community. Your participation and feedback will help inform the development of a new model for community-based climate mental health support at the University of Montana. Participants must be ages 18-24.

Interested in joining? Want to learn more? Please follow the link to fill out an interest form. Melody will reach out to you!
