Franke GLI students from GBLD 194: “We’re with the Banned” on banned books will be presenting at the DiverseU conference on Wed, Nov 6, from 2-3 PM. For the first half hour, 3 of them are going to participate in a panel discussion they've been planning about banned books and the queer experience. Then for the second half hour, a couple of students are going to lead participants in a game of banned books trivia, and we'll give away some banned books as prizes.

This free community event is co-sponsored by the University of Montana’s Native American Center of Excellence and Davidson Honors College, and is being held in conjunction with the university’s DiverseU event. Get involved in our community by signing up yourself or your team to Stuff the Bus! On November 9th, UM will kick off the 25th Can the Cats food drive with an epic "Stuff the Bus!" extravaganza and we need your help! Buses will be parked at grocery stores across Missoula, and we need teams of UM volunteers stationed at each store to collect food and funds, encourage shoppers to donate, and stuff every bus. Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to learn more and sign-up here!

Can't make Stuff the Bus, but still want to serve the Missoula Food Bank? Students, Staff, and Faculty are invited to join together Wednesday, November 6th, from 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm at the Missoula Food Bank to assemble over 3,500 Kids Empower Packs to help K-12 students stay healthy and nourished over the weekends. You’re in luck! SVMA is offering Screenwriting in Spring 2025, taught by an award-winning, professionally produced screenwriter, and open to writers of all experience levels. There are no pre-reqs! Look for MAR 252: SCREENWRITING — clever name, I know! — and come join us. Space is limited, so don’t delay...We’re opening two sections this coming semester to accommodate student interest:
- Mondays 10-12:50
- Wednesdays 2-4:50

DANC 291.80 – 1 CR. – Special Topic: ROOTS DANCE (Honors)
Come swing through American history and learn the dances that have helped build community in America since 1619. Walk the steps while learning the history behind the English country dance, New England contra dance, French quadrille, Western square dance, cakewalk, waltz, polka, and the zoo dances. Each class will be a veritable dance party. Coaching will be provided for those interested in learning how to call dances themselves!

This is a class that usually has a wide range of students.
There is no prerequisite for it and previous students have thoroughly enjoyed understanding more about common brain disorders and neurological conditions.
