One of our GLI Mentors, Steve Yoshimura, is leading a faculty directed study abroad course spring 2025!
Join Professor Steve Yoshimura’s course in Social Interaction and Well-Being (COMX 485) on this short-term study abroad through Budapest, Krakow, and Prague from May 12-22, 2025. In these beautiful and complex European cities, you'll learn how social life contributes to human well-being by way of close relationships, art and scenic spaces, meaningful work, and philosophical and religious outlooks.
Among many experiences, you’ll practice the healing tradition of soaking in Budapest’s thermal baths, contemplate Viktor Frankl’s “Man’s Search For Meaning” at Auschwitz-Birkenau, learn why remembering death is relevant to a life well-lived at the Sedlec Ossuary in Kutná Hora, Czechia, and get a local expert's take on the epicurean links between food, dark humor, relationships, and social well-being in Prague.
Contact Professor Yoshimura at stephen.yoshimura@umontana.edu for a full itinerary, pricing information, and other details.
Application deadline is 10/24/24.
