Lauren's Promise!

Join us on October 29th for Lauren’s Promise, an at-your-own-pace walk-style event on the Oval in observance of Domestic Violence Action Month. From 4-6 p.m., we invite our community to walk around the Oval, read some information posted along the way, and then, at the end, take a bystander pledge to receive an enamel pin made specifically for this event. We will also have light refreshments throughout the event and informational tables from campus and community resources.

  • 4-6 pm is independent - walk on your own or bring friends and walk together!
  • At 6 pm, we will do a vigil-style walk in remembrance of Lauren McCluskey, who was the victim of domestic violence and stalking. Read more about Lauren and the Lauren McCluskey Foundation here!

NPAD 467 - Advanced Nonprofit Administration

Tuesdays/Thursdays 2:00-3:20

Taught by a nonprofit professional with significant experience in fundraising and grants management, this course offers an in-depth exploration of grants and funding strategies. Through a hands-on approach to learning, students gain understanding of the full grants process – identifying potential funding sources, developing strong proposals that align with funder priorities, and administering grant awards – as well as fundraising strategies that include events and donor management.

Students will learn to research and evaluate grant opportunities, build compelling narratives, and construct clear, persuasive budgets. Essential topics such as funder relationships, ethics, and reporting requirements are also covered. Real-world examples and project-based learning facilitate skills development needed to secure funding in a competitive nonprofit environment successfully. Whether you are new to writing grant proposals or are looking to boost your expertise in fundraising, this course provides technical skills and abilities to enhance your readiness for a career in nonprofit administration.
