C.U.B.S. Club is looking for student officers for the 2024-2025 academic year!

The recently co-founded C.U.B.S (Creating Unity and Building Strength) began as a GLI Capstone and is seeking officers for the 2024-2025 academic year! C.U.B.S club seeks to support foster youth in Missoula by hosting weekly Saturday morning sessions filled with fun and engaging physical activities on campus.

Some activities we’ve done already include ultimate frisbee, theatrical combat, soccer, and more. C.U.B.S. is actively seeking students who would be interested in applying for leadership positions within the club. Currently, we have positions open for President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. We have around 19 members total right now and we are hoping to expand to about 30. We will take anyone who is interested, but this club will not continue if we do not fill our officer positions.

We’re eager to continue this club after we graduate and have seen firsthand its impact on our volunteers and youth:

“I like this program. I always enjoy coming on Saturday. I love interacting with people, and the more people the better.” - J.K., youth participant

“The biggest thing is that they sometimes don't always feel like coming when they are at home, but the moment they arrive their attitudes completely change. By the time they get back it’s all they talk about.” - Todd, youth home employee

Lavender Graduation is May 6th!

UM Student Life and the Lambda Alliance are working together to bring you the 2024 Lavender Graduation, scheduled for Monday, May 6th, at 7 p.m. in the UC Theater. The ceremony will feature a PowerPoint presentation announcing each graduate (even those who cannot attend in person), and guests and supporters of the graduates will be invited to share some words of encouragement.

Graduates will receive a certificate and a rainbow cord for graduation. Graduates can submit their names and information via the QR code on the attached flyer. Lavender Graduation is a celebration of LGBTQ+ students' achievements and contributions within our academic community. This event fosters inclusivity, support, and recognition while building connections and allowing us to come together in celebration of resilience, diversity, and success.
