Greetings!
Mark 13:24-37
"But in those days, after that suffering, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see 'the Son of Man coming in clouds' with great power and glory. Then he will send out the angels, and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.
From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, at the very gates. Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
But about that day or hour no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Beware, keep alert; for you do not know when the time will come. It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his slaves in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to be on the watch.
Therefore, keep awake--for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or at cockcrow, or at dawn, or else he may find you asleep when he comes suddenly.
And what I say to you I say to all: Keep awake."

A Grace
O Lord we thank thee for this food,
for every blessing, every good,
for earthly sustenance and love,
bestowed on us from heaven above.
Be present at our table Lord,
Be here and everywhere adored.
Thy children bless and grant that we
may feast in paradise with thee.

Presiding Bishop talks about finding holy, common ground at National Cathedral event on healing divisions
By Egan Millard
Posted Nov 20, 2020
[Episcopal News Service] Washington National Cathedral hosted a virtual event focused on healing the divisions in American society on Nov. 20, featuring a discussion between Presiding Bishop Michael Curry and Russell Moore, executive director of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention.
The conversation was the latest in a series of events hosted by the cathedral centered around the themes of national unity and reconciliation, including a Nov. 1 pre-election interfaith prayer service, “as an opportunity for Americans to explore understanding across our differences and engaging each other with dignity and respect.”

80th General Convention postponed to July 2022 as pandemic disrupts planning of triennial gathering
By David Paulsen
Posted Nov 20, 2020
“Like you, we have spent the last several months riding waves of pandemic news,” Presiding Bishop Michael Curry and the Rev. Gay Clark Jennings, president of the House of Deputies, said in a letter to bishops and deputies. Even with vaccines expected to be approved as soon as next month, “it is unlikely that even highly effective vaccines and robust federal intervention would permit us to gather as many as 10,000 people safely by next summer, as we had originally planned.”
Instead, the 80th General Convention has been rescheduled for July 7-14, 2022, with additional preparatory meetings to be held in Baltimore in the days before the convention. That timing means General Convention will conclude just two weeks before the start of the Lambeth Conference of Anglican bishops, which was rescheduled for July 27-Aug. 8, 2022, in Canterbury, England.

CT Reels From Coronavirus Blues As Cases Climb And Holidays Loom; Officials eye new restrictions even as youth sports vanish and many schools fall back further to fully online learning.
Nov 22, 2020 9:52 am ET; Updated Nov 22, 2020 9:59 am ET
CONNECTICUT — As the state lurches into the week that traditionally starts the holiday season, it is difficult to find a resident who is all that jolly. Maybe that's because many of those traditions are being fractured, displaced or just plain erased by the coronavirus.

A word from the brothers of the Society of Saint John the Evangelist
Thanksgiving
Think of at least five things to be thankful for – your health, your family, a roof over your head… Name them, and say thank you God. And before you know it, something has changed inside you.

ECCT Stories: Ask the Beasts
written by the Rev. Tuesday Rupp, Rector of St. Paul’s, Woodbury.
Last week while I was walking the dog, I was deeply preoccupied. I walked with my head down, impatient with a dog who likes to stop and sniff what seems like every leaf, every bush, every three yards or so. I wanted a brisk walk to clear my head. She wanted to take in every wonderful thing that came her way.

Discerning my path: a new course offering
Discerning My Path is a course ECCT is developing in collaboration with other dioceses in Province I and Bexley Seabury Seminary. This course invites participants into a time of deep listening, practice of ancient and modern spiritual disciplines, and offering and receiving insight regarding individual gifts and passions — all within a brave/safe circle of trust. In addition to monthly online meetings in small groups, participants will engage spiritual reading, videos and articles on discernment, spiritual practices, and the ministry of the baptized. Our journey together will be enriched with activities for self-reflection, guided conversations with others, and exploration of our own contexts. Small groups meet monthly online at a time they schedule. Individual reading and reflection takes 2-3 hours per week. If you have been wondering what is next for you in your journey with God, this course is for you.
This opportunity is open to all the baptized in the Episcopal Church in Connecticut. Scholarships and grants are available. For more information, click on the blue button below to contact Marcus Halley via email.
