Just passing the halfway point of 2022, Gatlinburg continues to thrive with conventions, groups, and events. The Gatlinburg Convention Center will host 22 first-time events in 2022. Along with the multitude of events that continue to return to Gatlinburg each year, the Gatlinburg Convention Center will have its best year ever. We say thank you to our longstanding returning events and to the many new events taking place in Gatlinburg!
In this edition, we spotlight the new indoor/outdoor space being added to the Gatlinburg Convention Center, new hotels under development in Gatlinburg, Cherokee Grill & Steakhouse, live entertainment with Erik Dobell and his Impossibilities Show, as well as recent Gatlinburg accolades from WorldAtlas and Cosmopolitan.

Cherokee Grill & Steakhouse
As Gatlinburg’s premier steakhouse, located in the heart of the Smoky Mountains, Cherokee Grill presents an upscale mountain lodge atmosphere with an exterior built with stone and brick, and an interior accented with granite and walnut.
Cherokee Grill is happy to have you any day of the week and realize that some days are more special than others. For these special occasions, Cherokee Grill has a secluded event room that seats up to 15 people.
For larger parties, the private banquet hall supports up to 200 people and is available for booking in Calhoun’s Village which is a short walk from Cherokee Grill. The banquet rooms are ideal for a variety of events such as rehearsal dinners, wedding parties, corporate events, and reunions.
With convenient parking, and video equipment and sound systems provided, there is no better place to create new memories.

For a fun and unique group outing activity, Impossibilities must be on your event’s agenda. Located in the Iris Theater at the Gatlinburg Space Needle, across the street from the Gatlinburg Convention Center, Master Mentalist and Magician Erik Dobell performs a show of stunning magic, reality-shattering mind-reading, and hilarious mayhem. A show of family fun where Impossibilities are brought to life right in front of your eyes.

Gatlinburg Convention Center

The Gatlinburg Convention Center is in the final stages of a 15-million-dollar renovation. New meeting space has been added along with the renovation of the existing space and all public areas (carpet, wood flooring, exterior decorations, digital signage, etc.).
Targeting a completion date of October 2022, the newly added indoor/outdoor venue space at the Gatlinburg Convention Center will allow groups to have events and meetings in an outdoor setting overlooking the Gatlinburg Parkway. This 5,000 total square foot space with fire pits located on the patio will be a venue every event at the Gatlinburg Convention Center will want to utilize!

Gatlinburg Convention Center Events

The Gatlinburg Convention Center is the first in the region to achieve the Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation, the gold standard for prepared facilities. Under the guidance of GBAC, a Division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, the Gatlinburg Convention Center has implemented the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention in its facility.
To achieve GBAC STAR™ accreditation, Gatlinburg Convention Center was required to demonstrate compliance with the program’s 20 core elements, which range from standard operating procedures and risk assessment strategies to personal protective equipment and emergency preparedness and response measures.
