The Gator Family Connection
May 2020
From the Gator Parent and Family Association:

Happy May and end of the Spring semester!

While no one expected this semester to unfold how it did, we, in New Student & Family Programs and the Gator Parent & Family Association, witnessed how students, family members, faculty and staff all played a crucial role in adapting to a new normal to end this semester. We hope that your student found new ways to make the end of the semester meaningful and celebrate another semester completed!

As the University of Florida continues to adapt during these uncertain times, New Students and Family Programs and the Dean of Students office is committed to providing support in any way. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions and/or concerns. The Gator Nation is here for you and each other.
Federal CARES Act and Emergency Aid

The University of Florida is awaiting receipt of the $15.5 million allocation from the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, or CARES Act. The CARES Act established and funded the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) to provide emergency financial aid grants to students. These critical funds will help UF students cover costs related to unanticipated travel, additional technology requirements, or other needs related to an emergency situation. More info at  CARES Act Emergency Aid.
