It's hard to believe that November is already here! The holidays and the end of the semester are just around the corner. This is the time of year when students are stressed because of midterms and impending projects. They are close enough to Thanksgiving break to smell it, but also see how much is on their to-do list before that break actually happens.

One of the best ways to help your student during this time is to be a support system.

Allow them to vent about frustrations. Offer advice when they need it. Reassure them they can finish this semester strong.

Academic concerns can be consuming for students this time of year. The Counseling and Wellness Center has some great resources on their website that can help students address their academic concerns and finish the semester strong.

Housing & Residence Education is excited for your Gators to Stay All In with UF Housing for the 19-20 school year! Housing agreements are available today, November 1st! The Spring 2019 course schedule has been released and advance registration is now available.  Encourage your student to check their holds, review course offerings and reach out to their college advisor if they have any questions.

Campus Diplomats Recruitment

Campus Diplomats, the official ambassadors to the Dean of Students Office, are an organization with courageous members. They serve the community, university, and each other with the intent to connect students to resources needed to support their success academically and personally.

Encourage your student to meet the Campus Diplomats at their Fall Forum on November 7, 2018 at 6:30pm in Pugh Hall. To learn more, visit the Campus Diplomats' website.

It's that time of year: Flu Season!

The CDC recommends annual vaccination as the best way to protect against the flu. The flu vaccine can: keep you from getting flu; make flu less severe if you do get it; and keep you from spreading flu to your family and other people. The University of Florida Student Health Care Center on campus offers free flu shots  to UF students with proof of insurance.
